The United States of Migration

CMGC planned and organized a semester-long series of screenings, performances, workshops, talks and forums that depict the new nation being formed by the contemporary wave of recent immigrants.

Tying the various strands of the series together was the Crossing the BLVD residency with BLVD co-creators, oral historian and multimedia artists Judith Sloane and Warren Lehrer. The residency included a multiplatform exhibit at the Paul Robeson Gallery, oral history workshops and class visits by Sloan and Lehrer, class projects created by students from the Crossing the BLVD book, radio stories and photographs, and a performance by Sloan derived from the oral histories they conducted.
