Spring 2018 Workshop Descriptions and Schedule

All students are welcome to attend the workshops. There is no registration required for any of these workshops. 

If you are attending the workshops to fulfill an academic probation requirement please refer to your letter or academic adviser for instructions. Your sign-in at the workshop will be submitted to your academic advisor as proof of your attendance. 

Please arrive on time to ensure that you have a seat. Latecomers will kindly be turned away and asked to attend a workshop at a different date and time to ensure they do not miss important content.

Stress to Success

Wednesday, February 7th, 2018 Location: ENGELHARD 209, 2:30-3:50pm 

Feeling stressed or anxious about an upcoming exam? Wishing it was break already? We know that navigating college life can be stressful. That is why the Rutgers Learning Center and Rutgers Counseling Center partnered to bring you this workshop, which will teach you how to identify when you are feeling stressed and anxious and how to effectively manage it. 


How to Study for Biology

Wednesday, February 14, 2018, Location: ACKERSON 106, 2:30-3:50pm 

This interactive workshop uses a collection of responses from former biology students, researchers, and academic coaches to guide students on how to best study for biology courses. Students that attend this workshop should plan to collaborate with other students and share their “do’s” and “don’ts” of appropriate study habits specific to biology at Rutgers. Intended for both non-major and major biology students. 


Put an End to Procrastination 

Wednesday, March 28, 2018, Location: ACKERSON 106, 2:30-3:50pm 

Students hate to procrastinate, but often struggle to overcome this habit. In this workshop you will learn strategies for managing your procrastination and making better use of your time.
