The Rutgers University Chorus, Newark Campus, made a highly successful 10-day concert tour in Germany May 22-31, 2014, giving performances in the Regensburg Cathedral and in Munich, Kolbermoor, Rothenburg-ob-der-Taube and Bacharach.

The Chorus was enthusiastically received.  At the conclusion of the four main concerts we were given standing ovations.  The tour repertoire was varied and included works by Beach, Billings, Britten, Faure, Foster, Manz, Mendelssohn and Rutter, as well as arrangements of African-American spirituals and American, German, Mexican, Taiwanese and Hebrew folksongs.  The German folksongs were performed as  encores at the end of concerts but were also sung in restaurants where we ate, and on a cruise ship on the Rhine River, and even in the Munich subway.

Prof. John Floreen has been conductor of the Chorus since 1979.  This was the ninth concert tour abroad under his direction, including performances in the Czech Republic, The Netherlands, France, England, Scotland, Wales, Italy and Spain.  Dr. Susan McAdoo has been Assistant Conductor since 1984.  She works with the Chorus primarily on vocal production.  Dr. Brian Harlow is accompanist.

The Chorus is grateful to the many alumni and friends and the R-N Administration for their generous support that helped make possible this tour.
