Eric Johnson, Technical specialist for the Rutgers-NJIT Theatre Arts Program, is an alumnus of Rutgers Newark and a near twenty year vet of professional theatre. Sound Designer, Technical Director, Carpenter, and Electrician are only a few of the technical positions held during his professional tenure. During his tenure, as a IATSE member of local 21, he has worked in some noted houses such as; New Jersey Performing Arts Center, PaperMill Playhouse, Newark Symphony Hall, Radio City Music Hall, Smithsonian National Museum of African Art, and The Rockefeller Center. Outside of your standard theaters, and concert halls, he has mixed sound in both indoor and outdoor festivals such as NJPAC Sounds of the City and Bethlehem MusikFest, Summer Solstice Festival in Times Square, and AnimeNext. Although Teaching, Sound design, FOH Engineering, and Monitor Engineering are his primary fields of focus; he has also found time to bring recording to Rutgers Newark, by creating RetroVista a full recording studio right here in Bradley Hall.
