Spring 2018 New International Student Orientation & Pre-arrival Information

Welcome to Rutgers University – Newark! 

All new international students are required to attend the Mandatory International Student Orientation scheduled for Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 9:30 a.m., in Room 308, 1 Washington Park, Rutgers University - Newark. The orientation program is designed to assist you to better understand the U.S. federal regulations and the University policies in order to maintain your F-1 or J-1 legal status while studying at Rutgers-Newark. Information will also be provided about health insurance, driver’s license and other matters that are important to you. Lunch will be served for you to have an opportunity to meet each other. 
 
Reporting to OISS:   It is very important that you report to OISS with your original I-20/DS-2019, F-1/J-1 visa and passport once you arrive at Newark. We are required by law to report your arrival at school to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and keep a file of your immigration record. OISS is located at Conklin Hall, Room 216, 175 University Avenue, Newark.
