Scholarship for Pre-Health Students

Pre-Health Financial Aid Scholarships for the 2016-2017 Academic Year

Prestigious scholarships are currently available for qualified Rutgers University-Newark College of Arts and Sciences pre-health students. This is an excellent opportunity for those individuals seeking financial assistance to remain in college and excel in their studies.

Funding is limited and not all deserving applicants will receive support. Scholarships are renewable and are scheduled to begin in fall 2016. Interested students must adhere to the guidelines and respond by June 13, 2016. Applications received after June 13th will not be processed.

1.      An applicant must have applied for financial aid by completing the FAFSA form and must also have financial need to be considered for a scholarship. A student denied financial aid is not eligible to apply for a scholarship.

2.      The applicant must be a full-time student and also have a file with the Health Professions Office in Hill Hall by June 13th with a current e-mail address and phone number.

3.      An applicant is required to submit the latest academic transcript (including final grades for spring 2016) with at least a cumulative grade point average of 3.2. An unofficial transcript is permitted with the understanding that it has the name of the student on it along with the RU ID. Please be aware that the registrar expects to have the GPA calculated for the spring 2016 semester by May 20th.

4.      Students are eligible while in the freshman through the start of the senior year of studies.

5.      An applicant already receiving a scholarship must indicate the name and source.

Note: All requested information and documentation (above) along with a cover page must be submitted in a sealed envelope addressed to Mrs. Hanna-Avegno. Type on the cover page: your name (with signature), RU ID, phone number, and email address. The envelope may be brought to Hill 312 where a receptionist will place it in the Health Professions mailbox or as an alternative; the envelope can be mailed to:
