Rutgers Road to Wall Street Program

All Rutgers New Brunswick and Newark undergraduate students are invited to participate in an exciting and valuable mentoring program designed to explore and demystify the many career opportunities within Wall Street and the financial services industry.

 

Program Components:

  • Students will be paired with a Wall Street employer through a competitive interview matching process. Selections and interviews will be conducted by alumni mentors representing various Wall Street employment divisions.
  • Accepted students will benefit from the required Wall Street Intensive: Training Seminar educating on specific Wall Street topics including Wall Street division dynamics and culture, career exploration, and the mentor/mentee relationship.
  • Students will attend targeted site visits to various employment organizations on Wall Street to get a glimpse of “a day in the life” of a Wall Street professional.
  • Students will have ongoing communication with a Wall Street mentor to gain valuable insight and learn how to compete for internships and/or possible future employment opportunities.
  • Students will be able to utilize and practice gathered skills and knowledge at the culminating Fall Networking Event, an opportunity to network with a variety of alumni representing diverse Wall Street companies and divisions.

Program Application Requirements:

  • Minimum 3.2 GPA
  • All first year, sophomore, or junior year students can apply
  • A strong resume and cover letter articulating your interest in a Wall Street career
  • A ranking of your preferences with respect to employment divisions
  • All majors are welcome to apply
    • In addition business majors, liberal arts majors, athletes, women, students of color, students with disabilities, and veterans are encouraged to apply.

 

New Brunswick Students:

  • Apply through your CareerKnight account.
  • Students must submit a one-page resume, one-page cover letter, and completed industry division preference ranking sheet to the appropriate CareerKnight posting (ID# to be provided)

 

Newark Students:

  • Apply through your RaiderNet account.
  • Students must submit a one-page resume, one-page cover letter, and completed industry division preference ranking sheet to the appropriate RaiderNet posting (ID# to be provided)

 

Important Dates:

  • January 15, 2014: Application Submission Start Date
  • February 9, 2014: Application Submission Deadline
  • February 20, 2014: Qualified students will be notified and provided with an interview date
  • February 24, 2014: Interview Sign-ups begin
  • Early March 2014: Mentor interviews take place
  • By April 1, 2014: Notifications of mentor match are sent out
