Reporting to International Student and Scholar Office (OISS)

It is mandatory that you report IN PERSON to the Office of International Student & Scholar Services (OISS) during our Walk-In Hours from 9:30am - 4:30pm, Monday to Thursday after you arrive in Newark. It is important that you bring a COPY of your stamped passport, visa and I-20/DS-2019. Please DO NOT scan your documents to us unless you also attach a copy of your I-94 record printed from https://www.cbp.gov/travel/international-visitors/i-94-instructions . OISS is required by law to report your arrival on campus to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and maintain a file of your immigration records. Your legal status in the U.S. will depend upon your completion of this mandatory “reporting/check-in” at OISS!  Additional details on how to comply with U.S. government regulations are available on the OISS home page  and during orientations offered by our Office upon your arrival.

If you will not be able to complete this reporting/check-in procedure, you MUST notify OISS in advance by email at oiss@andromeda.rutgers.edu or phone at 973-353-1427 to protect your future entry and legal status.
