WGS Affiliated Faculty Research Grant

The WGS Research Grant for calendar year 2013 will be awarded to a faculty member engaged in research in the fields of gender and sexuality studies. By accepting this award the faculty member agrees that any new course that results from this research will be submitted to the Courses of Study Committee as a joint, cross-listed course with the Program in Women’s and Gender Studies and the faculty member’s home department. 

Eligible expenses include transportation costs to archives; photocopying and scanning expenses; special equipment costs (tape recorders etc.), purchase of copyright rights or special material. Ineligible expenses include conference or organization fees, food and lodging costs.

Up to $700 is available for this grant.  The deadline for application's submission is Monday, December 3, 2012.

WGS Graduate Student Research Grant

The WGS Research Grants for calendar year 2013 will be awarded to up to two graduate students  engaged in research in the fields of gender and sexuality studies. Preference will be given to doctoral students, but master’s students will also be considered. Preference will be given to research projects that require archival or other forms of research, but conference support will also be considered. Only original papers being given at major conferences in the field of study will be considered.

Eligible expenses include transportation costs; photocopying and scanning expenses; special equipment costs (tape recorders etc.), purchase of copyright rights or special material, conference or organization fees, and lodging costs. 

Two awards, each up to $500, are available.  The deadline for this application's submission is Monday, December 3, 2012.

The WGS Travel Grant will be awarded to faculty members engaged in research in the fields of gender and sexuality studies. Eligible expenses include conference or organization fees, travel and lodging costs.

Grants will be awarded based on assessed requirements for conferences and travel.  The deadline for this application's submission is Monday, December 3, 2012.
