The Women's & Gender Studies Program was established in Newark in 1970. Today, the program offers an Undergraduate Major and Minor, a Minor in Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) Studies, as well as a Graduate Concentration in Gender Studies. The Graduate Concentration is open to students enrolled in graduate programs in English, History, Liberal Studies, Political Science, Public Administration, Global Affairs, Criminal Justice, and American Studies.
