PhD in Applied Physics

The 75 credit PhD program in applied physics is designed to prepare the candidate for a research-driven career in academia or industry. In collaboration with the New Jersey Institute of Technology and selected programs at Rutgers-New Prunswick it seeks to provide a broad knowledge base in applied physics. The program emphasizes and develops the research skills of the candidate.  Its graduate has mastered the techniques and skills required to initiate, participate and contribute to cutting-edge research in atomic, molecular and optical physics, surface science and laser spectroscopy.
