Profile: Louis Wells

Louis Wells is a stage director and teaching artist. His recent directorial work includes two staged readings of new works at the Abdington Theatre (NYC), Our Lady of 121st Street at Rutgers-Newark, the premier of IRL for George Street Playhouse, and a reading of Red Light District for Pegasus51/Performance Project, for which he is also the Artistic Director. Mr. Wells wrote and directed the premier productions of Sandman and OYOU in collaboration with Terra Firma Dance Theatre. As an educator, Mr. Wells is currently a professor at Rutgers-Newark and at Mercer Community College.  He also teaches at George Street Playhouse. He was a founding member of Austin TheatreSports and has trained in improvisation at the Hideout in Austin and at the Magnet Theatre in New York City. A graduate of Mason Gross School of the Arts, Mr. Wells holds an MFA in directing.
