Profile: Lori Llarena

Program in American Language Studies

Lori is from New Jersey and has been teaching with PALS since 2016. She has an MA in ESL from  Arizona State University and a BS in Economics from the University of Delaware. She alos possesses Certificates of Eligibility for ESL and K-6.  

Lori is a member of NYS TESOL. Her areas of expertise are IELTS/TOEFL (test prep), Writing, and Grammar. She has taught IELTS, all levels of core ESL classes such as Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing, and Grammar as well as electives such as Casual Conversation, Movie Monday, Idioms, TV Shows and Conversation, and Newspaper classes.

Lori is fluent in Spanish, conversational in Korean, French, and Italian, and has also studied American Sign Language. She is interested in learning languages, exploring cultures, and eating delicious food from around the world.
