Robin Dougherty

Robin is in her 11th year as Executive Director of Greater Newark Conservancy, a Newark-based environmental non-profit organization.  She led the design team in creating an environmental and ecological center, in downtown Newark, which serves to connect inner city children to their natural urban environment.  Previously, a special education teacher, and a school administrator, Robin is a Leadership New Jersey Class of 2004 graduate, and a 2007 Gustav Heningburg Fellow.
As a founding member and two term board president of the Environmental Fund of New Jersey, she served on the national committee which successfully merged 17 local state affiliates to become what is known as Earth Share which today represents 400 national and local environmental and conservation organizations.  She received the Garden Club of America’s Conservation Award in 2004 and was featured in New Jersey Countryside magazine as one of the Six New Jerseyans We’re Proud to Know.  Currently Robin is an active member of the Marine Fish Conservation Network and is enrolled in Columbia University’s Center for Environmental Research and Conservation.
