Hyacinth Miller

Hyacinth Miller is a Teaching Instructor in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences African American and African Studies and Political Science Departments – Rutgers Newark campus. She has also worked as a Lecturer in the Department of Latino and Caribbean Studies (Rutgers - Livingston Campus). Her research focuses on Caribbean immigrants in the Diaspora, multiple citizenship policies, the Caribbean, Latin America and Africa and immigrants and women of color in elected leadership. She has conducted original research and presented conference papers on the subject of West Indians in the US, West Indians in elected office in New Jersey and on the issue of multiple citizenship policies in the Caribbean. Ms. Miller holds a BA and MA in Political Science and will continue her research studying the effects of immigrant political incorporation as a GUS doctoral student.
