Health Related Student Organizations at RUN

Interested in getting involved on campus through a student organization? As a pre-health student, getting involved is a great way to demonstrate leadership, group work, and volunteerism.

Minority Association of Pre-Health Students (M.A.P.S.)

"M.A.P.S. is an association dedicated to serve Rutgers-Newark students who are interested in any health related profession; including medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, veterinary, osteopathic medicine, ophthalmology, and others. Our goal is to help make the professional health field more diverse by providing opportunities to students belonging to underrepresented groups in medicine. By providing information on admissions, shadowing, internships, scholarships, preparation in standardized exams and community service opportunities we hope to increase the number of minority students applying and getting accepted into professional health schools."

Pre-Med Society

"Our aim is to guide incoming and current Pre-Med students in their future careers as medical professionals—which include future EMTs, nurses, physician assistants, dentists, medical doctors and surgeons. This club is created to cater to the ever growing demand of undergraduate students for internship opportunities in the medical industry. This organization will also serve as an information hub for freshmen, upperclassmen, and post-baccalaureates regarding medical schools, volunteer opportunities and classes in general. This club should continue to facilitate a spirit of unity and cooperation among the pre-medical students at RU-N, as well as stimulate interest in academic excellence. All members of this organization shall conduct itself in a professional manner, and uphold the highest degree of integrity as we represent the RU-N community."

Project Dental All

"Our organization is a chapter of a non-profit organization that raises money to offer free dental supplies and dental treatment to children in need overseas. We are also the head pre-dental society on the campus and will provide our members with the most up to date information needed for the path to dental school."
