Graduate Studies

The Graduate School-Newark, established in December, 1975, offers students at Rutgers-Newark a variety of degrees, from the M.F.A. to the Ph.D. Many of these programs are developed and instructed by the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Newark. Students interested in an interdisciplinary focus can choose the Liberal Studies M.A., which offers students the opportunity to create their own curriculum, and the Women’s Studies concentration, which permits students from different disciplines to focus on gender related issues and theories.
