M.A.P.S. General Meeting

M.A.P.S. is an association dedicated to serve Rutgers-Newark students who are interested in any health related profession; including medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, veterinary, osteopathic medicine, ophthalmology, and others. Our goal is to help make the professional health field more diverse by providing opportunities to students belonging to underrepresented groups in medicine. By providing information on admissions, shadowing, internships, scholarships, preparation in standardized exams and community service opportunities we hope to increase the number of minority students applying and getting accepted into professional health schools. "Intro to Pre-Health Workshop"

Intended for first year students, this workshop will cover information on pursuing a career in the health professions.  You must attend this workshop in order to receive pre-health advisement from our office.

"M.A.P.S. Sports Tournament"

Date: Thursday, October 5th

Time: 6:00-9:00 p.m.

Location: Golden Dome Basketball Court

Dodgeball and Badminton tournament—this is a fundraiser where all the proceeds go towards the 7th annual community service event “Rise Against Hunger”

 

“Sophomore/Junior Pre-Health Workshop- The Next Steps”

Date: Monday, October 9th 

Time: 11:30am-12:50pm (free period)

Location: Hill Hall 108

Intended for second and third year continuing students, this workshop will cover information on pursuing a career in the health professions.

This is a workshop to learn more about how to volunteer for the Give Kids A Smile Day on February 2, 2018.. Facilitated by the New Jersey Dental Assocation (NJDA).
