Research Interests

In my lab we research the neurobiology of language, with particular emphasis on reading. A major source of our external funding is a K99/R00 "Pathway to Independence Award" I received to study how word recognition unfolds in the brain across space (using functional magnetic resonance imaging) and time (using magnetoencephalography). I am also Co-PI for a project funded through the Clinical and Translational Science Institute of Southeast Wisconsin to study the brain basis of a genetic marker associated with impaired reading.
