Craig Steven Wilder: Rutgers, Race, and Slavery [SOLD OUT!]

Craig Steven Wilder, Barton L. Weller Professor of History at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and author of several acclaimed works, including the award-winning study Ebony & Ivy: Race, Slavery, and the Troubled History of America's Universities (Bloomsbury), will discuss the history of Rutgers University and its role in the development of pre- and post-Revolutionary American culture and society. The talk will explore Rutgers’ and other early American colleges' roles in the discourse of liberty and the American chattel slave system in the United States.
