Congratulations to Lyra Monteiro, 2013-14 Sawyer Postdoctoral Fellow

Lyra Monteiro has been awarded a John E. Sawyer Fellowship at the McNeil Center for Early American Studies at the University of Pennsyvania for the 2013-14 academic year. The theme will be “Race, Across Time and Space.” The Sawyer Seminars program was established in 1994 to provide support for comparative research on the historical and cultural sources of contemporary developments.  The seminars, named in honor of the Foundation's long-serving third president, John E. Sawyer, brings together faculty, foreign visitors, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students from a variety of fields for intensive study of subjects chosen by the participants.
