The Center for the Study of Genocide and Human Rights, in partnership with UNESCO, has launched a Rutgers UNESCO Chair in Genocide Prevention. Building on a history of genocide studies at Rutgers, the UNESCO Chair on Genocide Prevention will undertake cutting-edge research, scholarship, education, and outreach on the prevention of genocide, one of the most pressing global challenges the world faces. To celebrate this new initiative, which is focusing on global justice during the Fall of 2013, UN Secretary-General Special Adviser on the Prevention of Genocide, Mr. Adama Dieng, gave the launch lecture for the UNESCO Chair on October 10 to a packed audience:
