Professor Alexander Gates led 100 people to revel in a moment of glory for the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences (EES). At the first-ever EES alumni reunion, which took place on May 31, the group celebrated the department’s historical achievement of ranking 49th in earth sciences by
U.S. News & World Report for its graduate program.

Fed Challenge Team Captures 2nd Place at Nationals

A five-student team fielded by the Economics Department at Rutgers University in Newark came in second in the nation at the national finals of the College Fed Challenge, bested only by the team from Harvard University.  This is the fourth time in six years that the R-N team has reached the national finals, and the third time it has placed in the top three national teams.
