The Annual Women's & Gender Studies Symposium 2014: Women & Health

Please join us for the Women’s and Gender Studies Annual Symposium 2014: Women and Health.  Our symposium speakers are typically a mix of scholars, community and political leaders brought together by the Women’s and Gender Studies Program at Rutgers University-Newark. The symposium will be held on Thursday, March 6th from 10:00am and conclude at 3:45pm; it will consist of two panels:

Panel I: Gender War, and Health, which will address topics such as “War, Austerity, Resilience: Positive Psychology in the US Armed Forces” and “Conjugal Couplehood and Inquired Soldier Bodies: Contours of Life in the American Afterwar”.

Panel II: Urban Communities and Health, which will address topics such as “Let’s talk about body dissatisfaction”, “It takes a Village: Addressing Health Inequities Via University-Community Collaborations”, and “Sex and the Day After”.
